Beyond cooing

In the last week Jasper has started really testing out the sounds he can produce with his mouth, from high-pitched delighted squeals to the kind of vocal playing you see here. The first few noises are Daddy trying to imitate the sounds Jasper made, to get him to make them again. But you'll be able to tell when Jasper himself takes over. This video was such a joy to record ... it was one of those "jackpot!" moments when you know you're getting the exact footage you were trying to get. Hooray!

  2. I LOVE it!! Those little sounds are so darling, and the animated expressions accompanying them are delightful. He is truly reaching out and trying to communicate. What fun you are going to have!

  3. I can't stop watching this video!! And as I sit here at the computer I find myself responsively mimicking all of Jasper's facial expressions--not nearly as charming on the face of a 67-year-old grandmother as on his sweet face!

  4. Yeah, it's priceless, isn't it? He's turning into such a sweetheart. Not that he doesn't have his bad days -- yesterday being one -- but he makes up for them and then some with stuff like this.
