Jasper is getting to an age where he can get a bit more absorbed in projects than only a few weeks ago. Here's one example of that.

A winter beach trip

Discovered that there's a perfect place to take Jasper on Sunday mornings, where it's quiet, where there's no traffic, and where and he can explore to his heart's content without much fear of hurting himself -- the beach! (Plus, there are lots of dogs that go by.)

It's January in Los Angeles -- park season, right? Well, yes -- but the park is pretty empty. In fact, this morning at 8:30 a.m., we were the only ones there!

And to tide you over while we still work on the holiday photo collage, here's a little video of Jasper and a new present that was actually given to his mummy. Kids in this generation are born with the ability to operate mechanical objects. Not that this is particularly a difficult one, but we still thought it was impressive.

Oh, and since Daddy shot the video with the camera held vertically -- forgetting that you can't correct its orientation as you would a picture -- that's how we'll watch it.
