A couple cute videos of Jasper wearing new warm or rainy weather gear, all of which happens to be orange. (Though if you ask him the color, he'd take two guesses to get it. Ask him what any color of something is, and he guesses "Green!" first, followed by "Orange!")

The Los Angeles River is more like a river-shaped cement basin than a real river, but they're sprucing up the area near our house, and Jasper and I spent some time there this morning. (Starting to spruce it up -- they still have a long way to go.) Here are a few videos:

A little Father's Day present from Jasper

Yikes! It's been weeks since we've posted to this blog. A lot of that has to do with the general chaos that surrounds moving, and trying to choose the "proper" footage to introduce you to our new house. But so far that has led to total paralysis on the blogging front.

So instead, a little song from Jasper and daddy this morning. He's getting pretty good with this song ... well, his version of it, anyway.

We promise more new house footage and other new footage very soon!

Getting ready to move

We won't actually be sleeping in our new house for the first time until next Sunday night, but Jasper is all ready to help with the move.

More beach

We can't seem to get enough of the beach ... this time getting there on our bikes/blades.

Beach appreciation

Since we will soon be leaving this area, we're taking whatever opportunities we can to appreciate the things that will soon be farther away. Like, the beach!

Gifts for Mummy

Jasper's daycare had a little get-together on Friday afternoon in honor of the mothers for Mother's Day (or maybe Dia di la Madres?). It was fun to get to know some of the other parents and kids ... and just check out those crafts!

At first he wouldn't quite play the game I wanted him to play ... but it turned into a cute video nonetheless.

Where no shopping cart has gone before

This morning, Jasper wanted to take the shopping cart for a walk, but Daddy wanted to get a bagel and a coffee. So we compromised -- Daddy threw the shopping cart in the trunk, and we rolled it around the boardwalk of nearby Marina del Rey.

Green thumb

Either Jasper legitimately has a green thumb ... or else he just likes to do the things we do. He and Mummy have been watering plants together for awhile, and this time time he's taking it on himself. (And please forgive the fact that Daddy forgot that you can't turn a video camera sideways the way you can turn a camera sideways.)

Our new favorite game(s)

One resembles more of an actual game, while one is a preliminary type of communication. He's communicating more and more every day ...

Fun with remote control

Rainy Sundays are a challenge when you have an active child who isn't yet old enough to go to the movies. So we went out to a nearby mall yesterday afternoon, and had quite a fun time. Of special interest to Jasper was the kiosk where they were selling remote control devices. Listen closely as he tries to say "helicopter." (Well, the last syllables of the word, anyway.)

A new park

The last time we went to this park, there was no one there because it was closed for renovations. Now it's open, but there was still no one there in the prime hours of a Saturday morning. I guess Angelenos are really afraid of a few storm clouds (which never ended up dropping any rain).

La Brea Tar Pits

It was everyone's first visit to the La Brea Tar Pits on Wednesday, even Jasper's daddy, who has lived within 20 miles of the pits for over ten years. A couple videos selected for your viewing pleasure:

Measure for measure

Not sure how the measuring tape came out on the first day of Grandpa and Diddie's visit -- I believe it had to do with the sweater Diddie was knitting -- but pretty soon Jasper's vital measurements were the ones being taken. (His head is 18 inches in circumference, in case anyone's interested.)

Jasper is getting to an age where he can get a bit more absorbed in projects than only a few weeks ago. Here's one example of that.

A winter beach trip

Discovered that there's a perfect place to take Jasper on Sunday mornings, where it's quiet, where there's no traffic, and where and he can explore to his heart's content without much fear of hurting himself -- the beach! (Plus, there are lots of dogs that go by.)
